Vista - runtime error

several of my game come up with a runtime error when i try to run them.
installing them was fine and I have tried patch but they didn't help.
does anyone know what i can do?

Name of game and computer specs, please?
Vista Upgrade? Fresh Install?
Which version of Vista?
Got all Updates?
What have you tried from the suggestions in this newsgroup?

I don't really know of something you could do besides running them in
compatibility mode. Windows Vista has bad compatibility issues when trying
to run older software.

I'm running Vista home Premiun 32Bit
and i have done upgrades for it and for the games as well.
Some of the games are Kohan2 kings of war, Unreal tournament 2004, Spell
force the order of dawn. My computer is well above the requirements. I have
uninstalled and reinstalled the games many times.
After this error message has come up I can't eject the CD/DVD and when i go
to my computer to eject it that way it say something is using it so cant
eject, but nothing else is running.
Unreal Tournament work for about a day then this happen to it so don't know
what changed. I have McAfee protection so I don't think it is a virus.

Any help would do, thanks
