Got my new PC with VISTA yesterday. I was really happy untili I tried to run
EQ1 and cant get past the patch screen. I have updated DX files. I have set
the properties to run in administrator mode and set it to run in Winxp SP2.

Here is my system info:



Gateway FX530QS
Intel (R) Core (TM) 2 Quad CPU @2.4Ghz 2.39 Ghz
2045 MB RAM
VISTA Home Premium 32 Bit OS
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS

When you say you can't get past the patch screen, does the patcher start at
all? Do any files get checked or download? Any error messages?

Might run the program in single core mode, check the eqplayers.com site for
Vista troubleshooting suggestions. You're missing 3 megs of ram. In
Compatibility tab Disable visual themes and desktop composition. Might also
help.

Any other games working OK? New Quad core system, old game, expect problems.
Don't let it fustrate you.
