Vista - Strike Ball 2 and Windows Vista

I have a new computer with Windows Vista Problem is that I
installed/bought Strike Ball 2 and it installed alright, but a window pops up
and says I'm not allowed to play it because of "parental controls"...BUT, I
do not have a password on parental controls, so that means that all is
allowed? Right? or wrong? Please help me be able to play this game.

Never heard of this game before, is the game Vista Compatible (it says,
"Supports Windows Vista" on the box somewhere)?

If it doesn't, check the game developers website (or distributer), see if
they have troubleshooting for this game.

If you have Parental Controls activated then try disabling them, or it could
be this program is picking up Vista's security as Parental Controls.

Try starting the game installer as Admin (right click the setup file and
choose Run As Administrator off the CD). If the game is installed, try
starting the game itself in administrator mode.

If that all fails, try posting your system specs here as well as who makes
this game, etc.

We bought this game on-line at Alawar Games. At that time, he, my husband
still had XP but he still wants the game.

Parental controls are off....as far as we know "Vista stinks, big time", but
we do appreciate your answer.

Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667 MHz-2X512MB, 250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200
rpm), 16X Max. DVD+/-RW Drive, NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Integrated Graphics
GPU, This is all I know.......and we are totally baffled.

I don't know what else to say, but we're very disappointed with Vista.

Yeah, lemme poke over there real quick... Alawar's game, they should have
some sort of support system in place for this stuff.

Well they don't have much support wise, but they do have a support form:

Might just copy what you put down here into that form, see if someone
responds. They may flat out tell you Vista isn't supported, but hopefully
they have a workaround.

Just downloaded Strike Ball 2 Deluxe demo, it started on my Vista Business
machine with no fuss, so could be something with the system.

It's certainly not as well patched as XP, which is why people are still
saying unless you really need it, don't bother.

Find the icon to start Strike Ball 2, Right-Click on the icon to bring up a
menu of stuff.

The second option is "Run as Administrator". This starts the program with a
higher security level and sometimes resolves issues with older games.

Try reinstalling the game, or see if the Alawar support form helps.

I get bored at work sometimes... I'm using the same system with Vista
Business.
