DOS GAME

My husband has a really old DOS based game of Solitaire which contains many
of his favorite games. Is there any way to get these games to play on
Windows Vista?

I think that's unable to do that, because probably that DOS game is
16bit instead application, but Windows Vista doesn't run 16bit applications.

Only 64 bit Vista can't run 16bit applications.

32 bit versions of Vista can.

You can if you get Dosbox. Dosbox even runs Dos games on Linux. Dosbox is a
Dos emulator.

DOSBox, Virtual PC 2007 from Microsoft (If you have a copy of MS-DOS or
FreeDOS to install on it), etc.

DOSBox will be easier though.
