Vista - Civilization IV

After instalation Patch_174 I can not run the game. Why? I had to uninstall
the the game and install again. VISTA Ultimate 32 - polish, 2 GB Ram, ATI
Radeon 1950 Xpro

It says that programme can not find the file ... now I do not remember what
is the name of this file. I tried to install this patch several times.
Instalation was ok but whet I tried to run the game after instalation the
program could not find this file.
