I've installed them on my rig and all went well, not too much inprovement
when benchmarking but work brilliantly with Bioshock demo which you can also
get here

Why would they release beta Vista64 drivers when one of the added security
levels of Vista64 is the requirement of signed drivers only?

BECAUSE PEOPLE GOTS'TA GET THEIR BIOSHOCK ON HOMMIE!

You can turn off the Signed Driver requirement in Vista, lots of people
have. It takes a few weeks to get a driver WHQL approved by Microsoft.

If you don't plan to get Bioshock there's no reason to get this update.

Turn it off Signed Driver Checking then...it only gets in the way, people
don't always want to do as M$ tells them

I know Vista allows that but I thought Vista 64bit doesn't? I don't plan on
buying Bioshock anyway, was just curious about 64bit beta drivers for an OS
that is not supposed to allow beta drivers.

Vista 64 by default requires digitally signed drivers, but you can turn it
off (Press F8 when you're booting, like going to Safe Mode, but there's a
toggle there to turn off Digitally Signed Driver requirement).

There's no such thing in Vista 32, you can use whatever driver you want in
Vista 32. (well except old ass Kernal mode drivers)
