Problem with Playing DVDs on Vista

I just bought a new Computer yesterday and for some reason it can't play DVDs
in the media player (Version 11) . I always get a message saying "There is a
problem with the digital protection between your DVD Drive, Decoder, and
Video card." I've read some threads and they say that I need to update my
driver and install a new decoder. Would the CinePlayer DVD Decoder work? Want
to make sure before I order it.

Just in case the Comp is an HP A-6130-N and I have an LCD 19" HP Moniter.

When I try using it in the Windows Media Center I get a message saying that
I should try reducing the screen resolution. (Already tried it and no luck
just thought I should mention it)

Yea, get VLC as the other person said. I had this issue when trying to
output DVD at 1280x720 to my projector from a Nvidia video card and VLC was
able to bypass the Macrovsion. This is the wonderful DRM at work for you
and is stopping you from playing DVD's upscaled to a higher resolution.
