Windows vista firewall and Multiplayer issues

I recently bought a new comp with windows vista and am having
trouble getting a multiplayer game of age of empires 1 going. I'm pretty
sure its the vista firewall and not my router because i had no problem
getting the game going on my old computer which ran XP.
Age of empires is listed and checked in my firewall exceptions. I
can see multiplayer games but get timed out when trying to join. If i create
a game others cannot even see it. I'm using the Tcp/ip option for
connection.
Please help.

Re: Windows vista firewall and Multiplayer issues

Ice,

Can you give any more details...

What is the make & model of router?
Are you having trouble over a LAN connection or just Internet?

Regards

DM
