I can install the game but once i click on it to load it just stays on a
black screen and will eventually tell me that an error has occured and stoped
the game from running and will exit the game.
does anyone know what i can do
i tryed doom 2 as well and that wouldnt work either so i think its vista
because the games both work on other computers with xp

Well Doom 2 is a pretty old game, it probably won't just install and work on
your system. I'm not sure I've heard of Heroes 2, is that based on the TV
show Heroes, or are you talking about Heroes of Might and Magic, or maybe...
some other game?

For Doom 2, look around the Internet for a Windows 9x update. A lot of
people have taking the "now" open source game Doom 2 and made new programs
that are Windows compatible.

As for your other problems, sounds like you need to update your windows
video card drivers. Look up your computer online, find out which video card
you have and look for a driver update for it. You might also run Windows
Update (in the control panel) and see if there's an optional hardware driver
update listed, Vista usually installs a fairly recent version of nVidia and
ATi drivers.

Respond here if this doesn't help, include your computer make and model# as
well as which game specifically you are trying to run.

Re: I can't play Heroes 2 on vista

I think HOMM2 is a full-screen dos game. If so, you will need to download
DOSBox and run the game from inside of it.
If you have troubles getting it working just post your questions.

Hope that helps!
Mark

Yeah, old DOS games, not really easy to get going, but as someone just said,
look for a program called DOSBox, it emulates an older DOS computer and lets
you run old games (albiet poorly). Might let you get the game going.

Good luck,
Andy
