| | How to scan Yahoo mail with AVG Free? I uninstalled the Norton trial version from Vista on my new computer, and installed AVG Free. I now find that AVG is not scanning my Yahoo mail, and the AVG control center keeps telling me that the email scanner is not functioning. It reactivates for a while, but usually goes down again after a while. How can I configure AVG to scan incoming and outgoing Yahoo mail? I guess it is now scanning People PC email, even though I never use it. |

| Vista Business/Home Premium/Ultimate x64/Server 2008 X64 | Re: How to scan Yahoo mail with AVG Free? Turning off email scanning is very illadvised. Being the number one way to get a really nasty virus is through email. However you dont scan email from yahoo or hotmail or gmail or any other web base mail service because that mail is not acctually on your computer. It's at the yahoo website. Only if you use a email client like outlook or thunderbird that always down load your email directly to your PC do ou even need an email scanner. By the way useing AVG is not recomended it is a very poor antivirus program and will let many nasties on your system without you even knowing. |
