| | Re: Can only get connected Wirelessly, but not with eithernet cable Did you turn off the Wi-Fi connection first then try connecting by Ethernet? Also Open Device Manager > expand 'Network Adapter" > select your Ethernet device > right click it > and click Scan for hardware changes, then try connecting again. -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry "vicentejr28" <vicentejr28@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:823251BB-56D6-4FEF-85FF-1886634F0EF7@xxxxxx Quote: > SO i can only get connected wireless to my modem( i have a built in wi-fi > adapter), but when i plug in my ethernet cable.....my computer does not > detect it. From there you should also be able to check your settings and you probably want DHCP or "Automatic" allocation of DNS and IP address to avoid conflicts. In the properties you should find a "Display In Taskbar when connected" box so check that as well. |
