| | File Types I work with files that have no extension. XP had the option to set a default program for any or no extension. How does one do that in Vista? So far I have had no success and have to select the opening program every time! |

| | Re: File Types When I find an Open With option on a context menu for a file I can check the box for "Always open with this program...." in the lower left of the Open With page. Is this what you are referring to? "Teamhrc" <Teamhrc@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:45C1C5FA-28EB-434F-A8FE-0B6D7FCDEC91@microsoft.com... >I work with files that have no extension. | | Re: File Types I found it. Type "default" into Start Search and hit Enter. What you want is the second item in the page that appears. The path is Control Panel - Programs - Default Programs. | | Re: File Types You're replying to another question, but it relates to my own. Default Programs does not profile the same functionality as XP's FILE TYPES tab, and it appears that there is no analog to it in Vista. /Colin Barnhorst/ said: > I found it. > > Type "default" into Start Search and hit Enter. > What you want is the second item in the page that appears. > The path is Control Panel - Programs - Default Programs. > > "Teamhrc" <Teamhrc@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:45C1C5FA-28EB-434F-A8FE-0B6D7FCDEC91@microsoft.com... >> I work with files that have no extension.
