| | Re: Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor run problem Hi Joe, You may not have missed anything. It could be that the download you made was corrupted in some fashion, in which case you can just delete the one you have and do it again. It could also be that there is interference from another application, things like antivirus and antispyware products can cause this and should be disabled while scanning with the tool. Please be aware that the Upgrade Advisor is not the end-all to whether or not you should upgrade. It can only report on the things it knows are an issue, it is not "smart" enough to decipher potential conflicts that are not part of its baseline data. If you bought a manufacturered machine (OEM), you should also check with the manufacturer for upgrade suitability and availability of drivers. If you built your own (or had it built for you), then you should check that the components, particularly the motherboard and video card, are capable. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "<joe>" <107@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:13hvd0fsv739p86@xxxxxx Quote: > Scans about 30 sec's this error is the result-failed to scan if you want > to continue using the advisor, remove and d/l the current file.I d/l the > only file on the WVUA site that is the first one I installed. What am I > missing? > |
