Starting up

Hi:
the laptop shut down without a warning. Then when starts, appears a new
desktop, a temporal one. I have tried with the reparing tool and I cannot
access to my desktop, I do not know how to come back to my own configuration.
I am sick of this Vista. Help me please

Re: Starting up

Hmm, I suspect your user profile is probably corrupted. Have you tried
booting into Safe Mode to see if you possibly access the account (although I
think its unlikely). Check under C:\Users to see if the original account
directory you were using is still accessible. Its possible you could just
back your files and move them into a new account.

Re: Starting up

Hi:

yes, it is something like this. I checked and the directory is still there,
so How can I back my files and move them into a new account? Thanks

Re: Starting up

You said you can see the directory, just open it up and browse the various
explorers that contain your personal data. If you get an permission error
message trying browse the directory, try taking ownership of the folder,
then copy over your data from the folders. You could simply just copy all
folders in Users under the corrupted account such as Documents, Pictures,
Music for example into the new account now.
