Installing an older Access based program in Vista

I am attempting to install a program called Tapetracker which was written on
an old version of Access on my new computer and during the install get the
following message: "Cannot change properties of the file named: C:\WINDOWS\
_MSRSTRT.EXE." After giving this message, the installation aborts. Has
anyone else gotten a similar message? Does anyone have any ideas on how to
fix the problem.

Re: Installing an older Access based program in Vista

From your post "... install a program called Tapetracker which was written
on an old version of Access ..." is confusing (at least to me) - you cannot
write programs with Access - Access does provide for writing programs in
Visual Basic to run within Access.

Google for MSRSTRT.Exe

how to
fix the problem.

Throw your computer with Vista in the dump can like I have and ask for
your money back. This was posted using W98 way better and at least it
work's when Vista does not.

Actually, you can write Custom Solutions based on Microsoft Access. I would
recommend the OP post this in the following NG:

Ahhh...the "true you' finally emerges? Guess what, you're either an
incompetent computer user or else you're just a fukkin troll.
If the later, get lost. If the former learn more about computers by
asking real, honest user questions.
So which are you?

Oh, I see. So you're both an incompetent computer user and a wannabe troll.
Hummm...guess what...you're dead in the water. Best to take that job
offer at 7'em 11'em. Don't bother with Mickey'dees, you'll never get
past the PF-16 test.
