Flashing windows, please help!

I am running Vista Home Premium as OEM install. All of a sudden window frames
have started flashing! No matter what program I'm running the window that
surrounds it won't stop flashing.

The taskbar is also flashing and I cannot select any programs from the Start
Menu. If I try to run a program from the Start menu, I can get to Programs
and see them listed, but when I click on any program the Start menu closes
and nothing happens!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Flashing windows, please help!

Have you recently installed any application/s that might have started this
effect? Have you updated your video drivers? Are there any external devices
plugged into the system that might be causing this?

Re: Flashing windows, please help!

Hi Andre,

I installed Office 2007 but that was a week ago and everything was working
fine until today that the flashing started.

No, I have not updated the video drivers. Didn't thought I would need to if
I had not made any changes to the OS.

The computer is a laptop without anything connected to it.

Any thoughts?
