Add Start-up program

How can I add a program to the Start-Up process. Can't seem to find the
location.

Re: Add Start-up program

Click the "Start" button, Click "All Programs" then right click the
"Startup" folder.

Notice one of the options is "Open All Users".

Select it, and try putting the shortcut to the program you want to run for
all users there.

Go to C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start
Menu\Programs\Startup

If you don't see it, make sure that hidden files are turned on.

Re: Add Start-up program

Neither suggestion worked. Either 'Paste' was grayed out or wasn't listed
as an option. They sure don't make it easy.

Re: Add Start-up program

Something is blocking that, I just tried the same procedure my self and I am
able to paste whatever program I want there. What type of program or try to
add to the Startup folder?

Re: Add Start-up program

Sorry, I don't understand.
1. The Paste functions are grayed out
2. Paste 'just fine'? I don't understand 'just fine' and 'my startup
program'.
Could you elaborate?

Thanks,

Are you logged on as an administrator? If not, do so and try again.

Re: Add Start-up program

It might be a security program blocking the Registry change it needs to
make. A few, but not all, of the programs now doing this are:
Ad-aware's Ad-Watch
IBM Access Connections
McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware
Norton AV
Spyware Blaster
Spybot> Tools> IE Tweaks
Spybot- Teatimer
Spysweeper
Spyware Doctor
Windows Defender
Zone Alarm (free) 6.5 Reported to be fixed in later versions.

In the case of Zone Alarm 6.5 or Norton 2007 it actually has to be
uninstalled. Make sure the Windows Firewall is turned on until you
reinstall Zone Alarm.

Boot into Safe Mode with Networking and try the change.
