Default Programs in Vista

How do you change default programs in Vista? I want my E-Mail links to open
in Firefox but I cannot figure out how to change it. I've gone to Control
Panel/Default Programs/Set Default Programs and Firefox is not listed with
no apparent way to add it.

Re: Default Programs in Vista

According to the Firefox 2.0.0.1 release notes Firefox cannot be set as your
default browser:

Re: Default Programs in Vista

You may want to check this entry in your registry and see if firefox.exe is
set

[HKCU\Software\Clients\StartMenuInternet]

Firefox 2.0.0.9 is the default browser on my Vista system. Maybe this
is a problem that's been fixed between 2.0.0.1 and 2.0.0.9.

I know that Pegasus Mail currently can be set as the default mailto:
handler in Vista (without messing with the registry, which I'm working
on). I don't know of any similar problems. Hopefully the next Pegasus
release will fix that.

Re: Default Programs in Vista

Well, my Firefox on Vista x64 is version 2.0.0.4, so it must be an issue
with older versions.

By now your Firefox must have updated itself (it IS an older version,
isn't it?).
Have you tried forcing it to be default via Options-Main-Check Now?

How awful to be stuck with IE!

Re: Default Programs in Vista

It wasn't but it is now. Incidentally, my Firefox version is the current
one; 2.0.0.9
