Vista Photo Gallery Yellow Filter Problem

Hi

Is it just me, or is everyone having this "yellow filter" laid out over the
images in Windows Photo Gallery.

I like the functions of the gallery, but in order to see the proper image I
need to Open With... MS Office Picture Manager - and I don't want to (buhu!)

Please help me clear my view.

I have these notes that I copied from the MS website a while ago.
Perhaps they will be helpful to you:

Q: Why do my photos have an odd color cast in Vista (but look fine in XP
and IE)?

A. The photo viewer in Windows Vista is a color managed environment (it
can use a color profile to render a color-accurate representation of
your photo). XP and IE (and many other applications) are not color
managed. Color management can be a complex topic. It's possible that
there is an incorrect color profile embedded in the photo, or perhaps
you have an incorrect color profile applied to your display device.
Following these instructions may fix the problem:

1. Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Color Management
2. Select your display device
3. Check the box “Use my setting for this device”
4. Click Add
5. Choose “sRGB IEC61966-2.1” (this is the color profile that IE is
using)
6. Set it as default.

Re: Vista Photo Gallery Yellow Filter Problem

Andreas,

Many people have had the problem. Most solved it by removing invalid color
profile.

Click start orb
type color
'Color Management" should be at top, select it
in the devices tab, make sure the device in the drop down is your display
remove all 'Profiles associated with this device'
