Vista - Monitoring deleted files

Hi,
Is there anyway of monitoring files which have been deleted one way or
another from my machine, pehaps using the event viewer.

I am currently using a video editing program and to my frustration it has
permently deleted one of my files without warning for the second time. Is
there any way to monitor what has gone from the hdd even if it didnt pass
through the recyle bin first?

There's nothing that will do that. There are deleted file recovery programs
like http://www.snapfiles.com/get/restoration.html to help in these
circumstances.

By the by, large files don't get deleted without acknowledgement from the
user, unless you somehow altered the system to do so (and I'd think you'd
know it if you did). They can be overwritten with new data, or renamed, but
not deleted unless the user agrees to the warning that the file is being
permanently deleted, bypassing the recycle bin.

Seriously though - ouch, that sucks. Is there a setting in your video
editor to toggle the delete warning off? or is it a bug in the
software?

thanks, I installed the program but everytime i try to run a scan it says
access denied, log on with an account with admin previliages, which i have
done. Any ideas?

I am using vista if that helps.
