| | how do I use Vista Microsoft mail while travelling? I'm a Merchant Marine and never in the same place long. Do I need to find the POP3, SMTP code everywhere, with every different ISP? ( airports, coffee shops, etc) My current ISP is Quest and I use Yahoo for email, but I start travelling tomorrow. I haven't even found Quest's info yet. Any help for a sailor out there? |

| | Re: how do I use Vista Microsoft mail while travelling? When traveling it is easiest to use one of the web based email services such as Hotmail, Yahoo Mail etc. This way you can get your email from any place you can connect to the internet. -- Regards, Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User (For email, remove the obvious from my address) "Nick" <Nick @discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F3C6EA49-DF71-4C36-85CC-36D5E546A51E@xxxxxx Quote: > I'm a Merchant Marine and never in the same place long. | | Re: how do I use Vista Microsoft mail while travelling? You can get a Gmail account and use that to send with. Keep your regular mail server to receive email. With this, from anywhere in the world, you can send/recv email at your domain name through your hosting provider. Ask them if they have encrypted connections available if you need that level of security. I travel all over also and find that having my own domain name and email service means I can send/recv email from any network in just about every place in the world. -- Leythos - Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum. - Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented worker" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist" spam999free@xxxxxx (remove 999 for proper email address) |

| | Re: how do I use Vista Microsoft mail while travelling? Many ISPs that offer POP accounts also have web based accounts for people that travel. I have Time Warner Roadrunner and can check mail at home and also anywhere there is access to the Internet. Call your ISP and see if they offer one.
