| | Unable to connect Outlook 2007 to Exchange under Vista Hi, Been using Off2007 with XP clients for some time without issues. Right now i'm doing a Vista valuation and seeing this error message everytime i try to connect to the Exchange server (2003) 'Unable to logon to Exchange server....' I have gone through all network settings and made sure they are set equally to the rest of my XP clients, but no luck. The Vista client is working flawlessly in all other aspects. I have tried setting up an IMAP account and that works well. I can ping the server with all FQDN and just simple NB name. I have read all kinds of articles but still haven't nailed it. Any ideas, this process has taken way much time already... Best regards, Eirik Alim |

| | RE: Unable to connect Outlook 2007 to Exchange under Vista Just to add up, I have tried to disable all secutity software (Symantec Endp Prot) and Windows FW & Defender. The client is in the LAN so no HTTP/RPC case. -Eirik "Eirik" wrote: Quote: > Hi, > > Been using Off2007 with XP clients for some time without issues. | | Re: Unable to connect Outlook 2007 to Exchange under Vista Eirik, Find a solution? I have have the same problem. I believe the problem is the way Vista handles nework connections. I can connect when I am on a Domain defined subnet but if I boot up from a different subnet or from a public network and use a VPN client, I can resolve and ping the server, but Outlook's AD functionality cannot connect to the Exchange server. I can even telnet to the server on port 25, but Outlook still will not connect. -- jdcarus Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

| | Re: Unable to connect Outlook 2007 to Exchange under Vista Hooray! I fixed my problem. Found it on link 'You are repeatedly prompted to enter your credentials when you try to connect to an Exchange mailbox by using Outlook 2007' (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927612/en-us). This link primarily has some procedures for the exchange server if it becomes a bigger issue. At the bottom, it had a workaround that fixed it. a. In the Mail dialog box, click your Outlook profile, and then click Properties. b. Click E-mail Accounts, and then click Change. c. In the Change E-mail Account dialog box, click More Settings. d. In the Microsoft Exchange dialog box, click the Security tab. e. In the Logon network security list, click Password Authentication (NTLM), and then click OK. f. Click Next, click Finish, and then click Close two times. -- jdcarus Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |
