| Guest | Microsoft Exchange on Vista Business? I am trying to install Microsoft Exchange on Vista Business. I tried Exchange 2003, and the installation told me that this "cannot be installed on this version of Microsoft Windows". So I tried Exchange 2007 - and I get the same result. Surely Exchange is compatible with Vista???????? |

| Guest | Re: Microsoft Exchange on Vista Business? You can install the Administrative Tools for Exchange, but I am afraid you can't install the software itself on Vista since it requires a Domain Controller on a Windows Server System to tie into the Active Directory service to provide its core functionality. -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry "Ric" <fraybentos@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:997B5027-D987-41FB-A938-53235E41456D@xxxxxx Quote: >I am trying to install Microsoft Exchange on Vista Business. All I want to do is be able to synchronise my Outlook data over the internet with my Windows 5 Mobile device - to do this I need to have Outlook Web Access (ie ability to look at my Outlook data over the internet) and to have Outlook Web Acces, I need to install Exchange, no? If I am wrong, what do I need to install on Vista to have Outlook Web Access?? |

| Guest | Re: Microsoft Exchange on Vista Business? Ahh, you want to setup your account, you should let your Network Administrator do this for you. Once your Corporate email account has been setup for Outlook client, you should be able to sync your mail with your Windows Mobile device. http://www.globalgold.co.uk/support/..._mobile_5.html -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry "Ric" <fraybentos@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:u3I2BEGKIHA.4808@xxxxxx Quote: > All I want to do is be able to synchronise my Outlook data over the > internet with my Windows 5 Mobile device - to do this I need to have > Outlook Web Access (ie ability to look at my Outlook data over the > internet) and to have Outlook Web Acces, I need to install Exchange, no? > > If I am wrong, what do I need to install on Vista to have Outlook Web > Access?? > > |

| Guest | Re: Microsoft Exchange on Vista Business? To get access to your Outlook Web Access, contact your Network Admin, it could be as simple as an IP Address you type in the browser or a Company URL such as http://mail.company_name.com -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry "Ric" <fraybentos@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:u3I2BEGKIHA.4808@xxxxxx Quote: > All I want to do is be able to synchronise my Outlook data over the > internet with my Windows 5 Mobile device - to do this I need to have > Outlook Web Access (ie ability to look at my Outlook data over the > internet) and to have Outlook Web Acces, I need to install Exchange, no? > > If I am wrong, what do I need to install on Vista to have Outlook Web > Access?? > > |

| Guest | Re: Microsoft Exchange on Vista Business? I am a private user - I don't have a "network administer" whatever that is. I just want to set Outlook to download my emails from various accounts through its excellent spam filter, then synch my PDA with inbox and sent folder over the internet. I know i can set up my PDA to download messages directly, but then I get all the spam. |

| Guest | Re: Microsoft Exchange on Vista Business? Over the Internet, you mean when you're on the road and your computer is at home ? Outlook by itself can't do that.
