Vista Ultimate sleep issues

Hello,

I see that a few other people have had the same issue but I dont
really see a clear resolution to it.

When my system goes to sleep (which it does correctly at the time is
is et to do so) it immediately comes back to life at the log on
screen. If I log on I then cannot connect to the internet.

Does anybody know why it does not sleep correclty and what I can do to
resolve the issue? I do tend to laeve the PC on in the evenings and
feel happier that it is asleep when not being used (Just like my old
XP box did) but comes back to life when I need it.

Many thanks in advance

Gary

Hi Gary,

Try running through this troubleshooting guide to see if it will help you. If it is waking up for no apparent reason, then you might check to see what devices are set to wake up the computer. (Step 4 & 5).

Task Manager - Enable or Disable

Hi Shawn, thanks for your reply. The link that you sent seems to take
me to instructions on how to enable/disable the task manager. Please
can you send another link to the trouble shoting guide you mentioned?

Many thanks
