Vista - Lock Button on Start Menu will not show

I am experiencing exactly the same situation GeePee has described in every
single detail.

I have unsuccesfully tried similar actions in an attempt to solve the
problem. It does not seem to be an isolated case and I would like Microsoft
to solve, what looks like another defect in its newest version of Windows.

It would be very much appreciated.

I will see what I can find on this. In the mean time, this tutorial will show you how to create a Lock Icon shortcut you can use.
