Action Pack "upgrade" install workaround....

Somewhere on another forum, I read there was a way to install the
upgrade version of Vista Microsoft gave Action Pack members without
having to first install XP on the local drive. I thought I copied it
off but now I can't find it. Anyone have the workaround?

Hi Noctaire,

This tutorial will show you how to do a clean install with a Upgrade version of Vista without having to install XP.

Check your Microsoft Action Pack Support for assistance on licensing:

I always thought Action Pack Windows licenses were full versions with
limited use, if you did not renew your subscription you had to destroy the
software.

Re: Action Pack "upgrade" install workaround....

The Action Pack Vista DVD comes with upgrade Vista Business licenses. To
comply with the upgrade EULA you have to have an existing license for an OS
eligible to upgrade to Vista Business. There is a way to do a clean install
with an upgrade license. This is not supported by Microsoft and there is no
guarantee that a future Windows Update won't break a system installed this
way. To comply with the upgrade EULA you have to have an existing license
for an OS eligible to upgrade to Vista Business.
