There is a problem with WZC on Vista which results in network throughput
hanging for a few 100s of mSec every 60 seconds, believed to be caused by
thge periodic scan for SSIDs. The same problem existed in XP, but it was
possible to disable WZC in XP; it does not seem to be possible to disable WZC
in Vista though.

The problem is quite widely acknowledged and referenced on the web, even on
the MS site e.g.

This is causing me a real headache, and many others as well I think. Will MS
