Easy Transfer lockup...

I am trying to use Easy Transfer with my 4Gig USB Drive, it gets to
calculating how much time, or space it will need, but everytime I try it, it
only gets to 19% then stops going, never gets any further. Need some help,
please!

RE: Easy Transfer lockup...

You don't say what you have done, or what you are trying to transfer.

RE: Easy Transfer lockup...

I am trying to use Easy Transfer, to copy files from my current computer, to
my new computer. All the files they say "recommended". So I start the
process, it counts from 0% up to 19% everytime, "calculating" amount of space
needed, and then it hangs there forever.

According to this Easy Transfer site, you can use a special cable to
connect the machines directly together, an external hard drive, or burn
CD/DVDs.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...ytransfer.mspx

This link says you can use a USB thumb drive and gives more specific
instructions than the first link.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928634/en-us

I suspect that your USB thumb drive is either not big enough, not
supported, or formatted FAT32 so you are bumping into the supported file
size problem. If you don't want to purchase the special cable, perhaps
you can try a different transfer medium.
