Vista - Vista Ultimate File System

I really wish the designers of Vista would have left the 'file system' alone.
I continuously run into the problem of not being able to find files I have
saved. I am ready to re-install XP. I hope Microsoft will have a patch for
this issue. I'm about ready to change to a Mac system soon!!!

Are you going to re-install XP, or go to Mac? you say both!

One good thing vista has is its Search function!
And there is nothing wrong with the file system; only the users!!!!!

I seriously don't mean to be crass, and I apologise profusely, but if you can't find files you've recently saved, then how about remembering where you saved them to so that you wouldn't have a hard time finding them, and also by saving them with meaningful names, so that the Search facility will work better.

If you use a structured filing system regarding your folders, then finding your files is also a far easier task. For example, it doesn't help just dumping all your internet downloads into one folder, and then coming back later wondering what all that stuff is. If you download a driver for a printer, then save it to "D:\Downloads\Drivers\Printers\<Printer Name>" then it will be easier to find.

This same guideline applies to just about anything that you can save to your hard disk. Saving to a logical location does help as opposed to just dumping it somewhere.

The file system just stores your files. It won't remember for you unless you tell it how.

Uh, its still NTFS, nothing drastic has changed, in fact its way better,
just let the system index your files, just Mac OS X does and you will have a
great search experience.
