Family Tree Maker problems

I just installed Family Tree Maker 2008 and now it closes without any
warning...I called Family Tree Maker and they told me to turn off my security
and then reinstall. I did that and it didn't work..Then they told me to do a
clean boot that ... working..Then they told me to reintall 2005 Tree maker
and tranfer those files
to 2008 Family tree...After doing all that my Vista is giving me problems
and my family tree still isn't working right...It also caused my Windows live
Care to stop working and I can't get it installed correctly again...I have
reinstalled Live care twice now...- Today I got the blue screen od death but
it recovered from that..Can anyone please help...I would like to keep Vista
but not sure I can with all these problems..

RE: Family Tree Maker problems

It is NOT a vista problem!

You have a grabled post.
You install 2008 version; you have probs. The problem is caused by the
program's compatibility??
Did you check Visat compatibility at their website?

You don't say what Security Program you are using.

Also, why install 2005, while you have 2008 on your computer?????
You should have saved your 2005 files to CD or Memory Stick.

I am using FTM 2006 on Vista with just one issue having to do with their pdf
export routine, and that seems to only affect Vista 64 bit. I would stick
with FTM 2006. There are way too many problems with 2008 independent of
Vista. Check the boards on ancestry.com/rootsweb.com
(http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.so...emaker/mb.ashx).
