SP2. We've been hearing about SP3 for a long time, and it's always been either vaporware or some hack's creation. Then after posting I saw Gerry's link, so it appears part of Microsoft's site has been updated and part has not -- or else SP3 has been announced but isn't actually available for download. As I said when I started a new thread, I was surprised there hadn't been any discussion here. -- Stan Brown, Oak Road Systems, Tompkins County, New York, USA http://OakRoadSystems.com/ "If there's one thing I know, it's men. | | Re: Windows XP SP3 Twice As Fast As Vista Stan My link was a preliminary announcement as to what is to be included in SP3. It is a draft which may, or may not, be amended when they release SP3. Copies of SP3 are being Beta tested at the present. Beta testing in essence is checking for bugs. You may expect the release during the period January to June 2008. -- Hope this helps. By then, Windows Seven will be out, and we'll be BETA testing it's successor! |

Yes, I could have insisted on a DELL (instead of Acer) etc - but I would still have had to pay more for the XP version than the Vista. |
