| | Dear Microsoft... Thanks for putting out such a buggy OS (Vista) and then attempting to charge $59.00 for me to send you an email. This is the reason people are switching back to XP or over to Macs. For some odd reason, every time I open the Control Panel, and attempt to open the "Network and Sharing Center", the "Network and Sharing Center" freezes up. It never unfreezes (unless I reboot). This is a definitive problem, because I need to take the password off my network share, so my entire office can continue running automated backups onto my system. Is this a known issue? Anyone know a fix to this? Is there a command line to remove the password from the network share? |

As for using command lines to change system settings, suh as passwords you ay want to try Windows Powershell. I've not used it myself, but it appears to be the tool that you need in order to perform command-line level tasks that can normally only be done via the GUI. |

| | Re: Dear Microsoft... I cannot get my folders to share. I can access all the other Workstations from the Vista machine and get into the files. From the workstations to the Vista machine I can only get at the Public folder. I have set the share on the folders but that does not do anything but lock my system up at times and I have to reboot the Vista machine. I have even went to removing all the Firewalls and still cannot access any folder but the public folder from any of the CP workstations. It appears to me that all this security has done nothing but slow the Vista down and make it very hard to get communications on the LAN. I wonder what Dell would charge me to go back to XP on this Laptop?? I have had it for four miserable months and about to use it for my BOAT ANCHOR.
