| | Can't open *.swf files Why can't I open Shockwave Flash files (*.swf) in Windows Vista Home Basic? I'm using 32 bits and I have downloaded the Shockwave player and flash players. SWF programs are the only ones I'm unable to open. Instead, I get message "Error on Page" which changes to "Done" on a blank page !? -- Chris |

| | Re: Can't open *.swf files I uninstalled flash player but now it won't install again. I found an issue in Microsoft about this problem and there's a download for SubInACL from Microsoft "to fix permission issues that prevent the Flash Player installation". After downloading this you must also download the "reset_minimal.zip file. This extracts to reset_minimal.cmd and must be in the same directory as the subinacl.exe. You then run (double-click) the *.cmd file and it's supposed to solve the problem - BUT it didn't! I think these instructions don't apply to Windows Vista! Now I can't install the Flash Player and I can't run ANY files that need this! What do I do next?? -- Chris "Andre Da Costa [ActiveWin]" wrote: Quote: > Try uninstalling Flash Player: > http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...nalId=tn_14157 > > Then reinstall it: > http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...ShockwaveFlash > -- > Andre > Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com > My Vista Quickstart Guide: > http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry > "Jim C" <JimC@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:2558B3AC-D782-4381-8EA1-BF1CF0195B7B@xxxxxx Quote: > > Why can't I open Shockwave Flash files (*.swf) in Windows Vista Home > > Basic? > > I'm using 32 bits and I have downloaded the Shockwave player and flash > > players.
