Can't open *.swf files

Why can't I open Shockwave Flash files (*.swf) in Windows Vista Home Basic?
I'm using 32 bits and I have downloaded the Shockwave player and flash
players. SWF programs are the only ones I'm unable to open. Instead, I get
message "Error on Page" which changes to "Done" on a blank page !?

Try uninstalling Flash Player:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...nalId=tn_14157

Then reinstall it:

Re: Can't open *.swf files

I uninstalled flash player but now it won't install again. I found an issue
in Microsoft about this problem and there's a download for SubInACL from
Microsoft "to fix permission issues that prevent the Flash Player
installation". After downloading this you must also download the
"reset_minimal.zip file. This extracts to reset_minimal.cmd and must be in
the same directory as the subinacl.exe. You then run (double-click) the
*.cmd file and it's supposed to solve the problem - BUT it didn't! I think
these instructions don't apply to Windows Vista! Now I can't install the
Flash Player and I can't run ANY files that need this! What do I do next??
