Vista extended desktop green startup progress bar

Our church recently bought a new laptop with Vista installed. We have
software that routes the words to our worship songs through a projector and
onto a screen at the front of the church. Several different people use the
laptop to run the software. All works fine in terms of setting up the dual
monitors and showing the words on the projector screen. However, during
bootup, the green progress bar is displayed on the extended monitor (the
screen at the front of the church). The laptop screen remains blank until
the Vista logo comes on (about one minute into the bootup) and then the
regular desktop appears. More than once, someone has failed to see the
green progress bar on the projector screen (they are looking at the laptop
screen or the screen is blacked out) and believe that the computer has not
started. They then try to reboot, etc. Is there a way to get the green
progress bar to 'stay' on the laptop screen? I have thought of turning on
the extended desktop after the bootup, and turning it off after use, but
that is one more thing I have to show people how to do. Is there an easier
way? Thanks.
