Re: Windows explorer stops working

This is the fault data, I also get, under technical information the
recomendation to install a pack (KB938979), but when I try to install it, I
get a message that says that this pack is not for my system.
The problem happens everytime I try to use drag and drop to copy or move
files or folders. I restored the computer and only have installed the
original software plus Office 2007 and Norton Internet Security

I too have the same problem and get the similar error. I am not sure what to
do.

Re: Windows explorer stops working

There are so many different things that choke an already
unstable Windows Explorer.... it doesn't take much.

Have you installed any new programs lately?
Specifically, programs that may add an extension
to Windows Shell? When you right-click a file,
are there any new/different options listed?

Have a look at the info at the link below;

Re: Windows explorer stops working

What are your exact details? Usually this kind of thing is super specific,
so it's probable that yours is slightly different and thus might not
actually be the exact same thing. So your crash details would be very
relevant.

Re: Windows explorer stops working

I have a very similar problem. Even when I am using the control panel,
looking at program files, you name it, the message : Windows Explorer has
stopped working appears, then it restarts. I noticed the problem soon after
a failed download/install of the Crysis demo. The files were downloaded (I
think) but the install failed, and I could never find the files. Is it
possible that this could be the issue? Also, I have tried installing the
patch for this, and it never seems to work. My computer is a 5.5 vista
experience, so it's not the issue. Can someone give me a hand?

Re: Windows explorer stops working

I restored my computer to its original configuration, as it came in the box,
after that Ionly have activated Norton Internet Security and Office 2007,
which came preinstalled.

What specific patch are you referring to?
What are you exact details?

tells you how to look up the fault information if you don't know how. =)
