Here is the exact message that I received earlier- Error fixed in upcoming Microsoft Vista Customer Technology Preview release -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for participating in the Microsoft Beta program and sending an error report. Problem description Microsoft has reviewed this error report and determined that this problem will be fixed in an upcoming Microsoft Vista Customer Technology Preview release. | | Re: Latest version of Vista Thank you for the exact message, that makes it more clear. A CTP is imminent, but whether is soon or not, only Microsoft knows. Also that does not indicate whether there will be other builds released to the tech Beta or other groups before a CTP comes along. Kevin seem to want to assume it is soon, but that is not stated or even implied. We will all just have to wait and see. Generally any predictions are pointless since they stand a good probability of being wrong. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar http://www.dts-l.org "Ted Ruoff" <tmruoffNOSPAM@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:ebIByPWqGHA.3816@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > Jupiter, > > The message does say it is a CTP. | | Re: Latest version of Vista I think people in this newsgroup...set up predominately to help the CPP people..are getting confused on naming conventions. As I understand it: Interim builds are made every day but just used in-house for the most part. There are other interim builds that are sent out for specific beta tests(the German MCE build) CTP is for Connect and other TechBeta participants(some of whom are MSDN members) and CPP...which was were anyone with an email address can sign up..with 2 million participants or so. Therefore.. Interim builds are currently being used that at 5472/5477 and higher. CTP/Technet are currently testing 5456 CPP is 5384 What does a stockholder have to do with beta software? Stock holders want MSFT to make money...since they are not making any money on their beta software, it does not matter who the betas go to.. p.s. Aren't you the person who constantly told us that Private betas had been cancelled due to the enormous amount of bugs reported by the CPP? <kevpan815@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:OBJW5vbqGHA.2440@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > The Next Build Will Most Likely be a CTP Build Rather Than an Interim > Build in Order to Please Microsoft's Angry Stock Investor's, Just FYI. > According to Several Financial Sources, Microsoft's Angry Stock Investor's > Want Microsoft to Push Quality Over Quantity, in Each Monthly Windows > Vista Release. | | Re: Latest version of Vista Whoops...there is another layer in the link. CTP is sometimes only for developers (but not Connect Members) The Visual Studio July SDK requires their users to run it ONLY on build 5472, which was not released to CPP, nor Connect/Technet members..
