| | can't read cyrillic So I have vista and I have set the languages to include Bulgarian, I have set the Unicode to be Bulgarian. I am able to write in it with no problem I am able to read it for the most part, however there are still times where I can't read Cyrillic it comes out all gibberish. For example ICQ or I-tunes, what's wired is that some of the cyrillic song tiles are gibberish and some of them are fine. Same for ICQ some cyrillic writing I can read with no problem some comes gibberish. how do I fix this? thanks Mimi |

I've just surfed a few Bulgarian pages and they come out fine here. If you post an example of a web page or something that comes out as gibberish, then someone may be able to advise further. -- Jon |

| | Re: can't read cyrillic the problem is not with websites. I can read them w/out a problem. The problem accurse when only selective people write to me in ICQ or some of song tiles in I-tunes. My pc reads any Cyrillic with no problem but the laptop is where I am having the problem and again its selective some I can read some I can't. What fonts do I have to change and how do I do it? What fonts do I have to change and how do I do it? > May be missing a particular font on your laptop. What you could do is compare the contents of the folder C:\Windows\Fonts on the two machines, to see if one has fonts that the other doesn't. You could then copy over the mssing font from one machine to another, if one is missing. Also compare your settings within Itunes / ICQ themselves for your two machines. There may be different settings via the menus that's working well for you on one machine but not on the other, and they may just need adjusting. Upgrading them to a newer version may also help if the versions differ. -- Jon |
