| | System Restore problem I've tried restoring my HP laptop a few times with System Restore using different checkpoints and the same error message comes up afterward. ______________ System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed. Details: An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. You might want to try System Restore again and choose a different restore point. _______________ As I said, I've tried using a few different restore points but this just comes up again afterward. I can't find anything addressing this problem; can anyone help me? Thanks. |

| | Re: System Restore problem Or from command prompt at boot if it still fails from the Safe Mode GUI. I had a similar problem with SR too.. it was 3rd party software that caused the restore failure. http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...3bda91033.mspx "Jack" <replyto@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:eCGKe2nfIHA.2000@xxxxxx Quote: > Try it in Safe mode. > Jack > > "Claim Specialist" <ClaimSpecialist@xxxxxx> wrote in > message news:EE63C59C-08B3-438A-B461-85A60C00BDB6@xxxxxx Quote: >> >> >> "Malke" wrote: >> Quote: >>> Natec wrote: >>> > I've tried restoring my HP laptop a few times with System Restore >>> > using >>> > different checkpoints and the same error message comes up afterward. >>> > ______________ >>> > >>> > System Restore did not complete successfully.
