Itunes and parental controls

I recently upgraded to itunes 7.5 on my laptop with Vista Ultimate. Since
this upgrade my son is no longer able to access the Itunes Store to download
music. I have tried changing every setting i can and the only fix to it is
to shut off the parental controls in Vista. As soon as this is done he can
get on the Itunes Store. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I prefer
to have some parental controls set up for him.

RE: Itunes and parental controls

I have the same problem with Limewire, even taking all the parental controls
settings to off it won't work. Turn parental controls off entirely gets it
working.

Might try the parental controls in my virus/firewall software instead.

RE: Itunes and parental controls

Obviously it is a problem with MS parental controls and not itunes. That's
too bad because I prefered it to the one found with McAfee security suite.

Does anyone know a fix to parental controls to fix this?

Re: Itunes and parental controls

I got this to work by adding the following website to the allowed
websites in the Windows Vista Web Filter setting for the user who has
parental controls enabled:

http://ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net

Get to the setting by:

Control Panel | User Accounts and Family | Setup Parental Controls for
Any user | <user> | Windows Vista Web Filter | Edit the Allow and Block
List

Once there, enter the above address and click the "Allow" button.

User may need to log off / log back in to get the setting.
