2007/12/12 Windows Update Forced Restart without Notification, Vistaand XP

Does anyone from Microsoft read this group? Windows Update on Vista
forced a restart without notifying me and closed something I was
working on, so I just lost a whole bunch of time. The restart just
happened at about 3:09 AM.

At about the same time, another Windows XP machine next to me just
restarted and lost anything that wasn't saved.

The Windows Vista Start Menu reset the recently ran programs. Welcome
Center is back to number one.

Hello recurr,

Normal behavior if you have configured to apply and install updates at 3
AM. So no bug, check your automatic update settings.
Satrt>Control panel>Windows update, change settings. Here you will find the
configuration.
