RE: Making a vista copy

You cannot do that with vista. Your computer manufacturer should supply the
Vista DVD. Contact them. The dvd is necessary to reformat and reinstall Vista.

RE: Making a vista copy

Some manufactures include a disc to re-install the OS (Dell), other have a
program on the computer to create a set of system recovery discs (Lenovo,
Sony).

What brand did you buy?

A Scientists asks "Why does it work?"
A liberal arts major asks "Do you want fries with that?"

Re: Making a vista copy

Unless you bought an Acer, in which case your manufacturer will not give
you a disk but the lame excuse "Use the Acer Empowering Technology
tool to re-inatall the factory image"

-- Never Acer again --

They (Acer re-seller) told me "on the first boot up, you will be given
the option to create a backup disk"

I never got this option.

Re: Making a vista copy

There should be a 'Create Recovery Disk' program that comes with the OEM
PCs, if not you will have contact the Vendor about receiving a Windows Vista
DVD for the cost shipping and handling.

Re: Making a vista copy

as well as wha the other 2 said, you can always use a disk imaging software
like acronis to make an image of your current setup exactly as it is and
then restore it whenever you want..

acronis true image 11 is the one I use but there are others too
