So someone is going to pay for your services? And how can you support your family and your vocation if everyone else is going to be like you just want to take and not to give? Nothing wrong with making money and it is "how" that is in question. And I don't think the Netherlands government made the decision solely based on it is free even though I have no objection for people to use Open Source software and we use too but Open Source doesn't mean it must be Free! One can question if MS is too big to endanger the ecosystem of the software industry and some of its recent practices and product design, but to question the fundamental principle of today's market economy system that has been founded and defended by hundreds of thousands of people before us is simply ridicules. Yes, you can theoretically have most commercial Linux distros free if you want to go through the bother of finding, downloading and compiling all the source code. You will, of course, be missing any proprietary extensions. That's part of the difference. |
