shift key problems

I was using my laptop this afternoon when a filter key option came up
unexpectantly. don't know what I did but when I use the left shift key I can
type upper case letters like so ABDEFGHIJKLNOPQRSUW, the tvxyz can not be
typed using the right shift key.

from the right shift key I can type abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz nothing in
upper case letters - the above alphabet was holding the right shift key down.

i am running windows vista home premium. any thoughts as to how to fix my
problem are most welcomed.

Open Control Panel and double click the Ease Of Access Center. Scroll down
and click the 'Make the keyboard easier to use' link. Remove the check marks
from all of those options. Apply/Save.

Re: shift key problems

I tried to remove all of the checks under the ease of access center.
when I click on apply button the save selection becomes unavailable and the
only choice left is cancel or the red x at the top. when I just click on the
save button no changes take place and I am left with the same problem as
before.

any other thoughts

Hi Kate,

Did you check to make sure that "Num Lock" was not on?
