| | Re: Virtual PC help needed please? Granny The Virtual PC operates exactly like a separate computer. It sounds like you may be trying to use an XP 'Upgrade' disk to install XP. You need to have a full installation disk to install XP onto a new Virtual Hard Drive. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "Granny Grump" <lori@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:k7iam3hfclkpshdq5kndvp5elvg2cdou6a@xxxxxx Quote: > New laptop, with Vista. > > Installed Virtual PC, created an XP whatever to install XP into, > finally got the XP CD to start up, got the setup.exe to run, got the > Welcome to Win XP screen, BUT.....the install XP option is greyed out! > > Please tell me how to get XP to install in the Virtual PC? | | Re: Virtual PC help needed please? I don't understand. If VPC operates like a seperate computer why can't you do a clean install with an upgrade xp disk and verified with a Win 98 disk during the install? Maybe I should just remove the hard drive I created with the Wizard, and start fresh?
