Vista - Icons on Toolbar

I have noticed that some of the "AVG" task icons do not appear in the
toolbar when the task is running. In particular when the program is doing
it's daily virus check of the system. Note that I do NOT have the "Hide
inactive icons" button selected. There seems to be no way in AVG to either
allow or stop this icon appearing. Also on windows XP it has always appeared
unless the task starts before the system is completely up and running. This
is in general not the case on the Vista machine. This behavior is somewhat
annoying in that I cannot see how far the task has got in its operation!
