Western Digital USB Drive - Vista Boot Problem

Hi,

I have a WD USB drive that impacts Vista booting. If the drive is USB
connected, Vista will not boot. If the drive is not attached or is attached
via firewire, Vista boots fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Will

*** I've changed the BIOS settings and removed the "Boot from USB"
selection. The problem still occurred after the BIOS change.

No Messages. The screen with option to enter appears, then goes away. The
screen remains black after that.

back.

*** I've opened a case with Western Digital. The automated response was
that Microsoft has suggested connecting the USB drive after the boot process.
My response back to WD was that is a short term fix and I was interested in
other solutions and also a roadmap for resolution.
