| Guest | Joining Vista to 2003 Business Server Domain When attempting to join a vista machine to an established domain I receive the following error. “Your computer could not be joined to the domain because the following occurred: An attempt to resolve the DNS name of the DC in the domain being joined has failed. Please verify this client is configured to reach a DNS server that can resolve DNS names in the target domain.” What configuration setting is needed to allow Vista to find and join the domain? |

There are some updates for both Vista and SBS 2003 that need to be installed. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=926505 It sounds like you may have the DNS settings on the Vista client set wrong as well.
