File Downloads

When I am downloading a file through either IE7 or Firefox, it will download
a certain amount (eg. 2.5mb out of 4.5mb) then simply stop.
The total amount downloaded, time remaining and download speed all stay on
the same amount. Its like it just freezes.
I am running a Toshiba A200 Satellite Laptop with Vista Premium. I only
purchased it yesterday, so there is no extra third party security programs
installed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I can't really provide much of a solution to this one, as as never encountered this error. This is because I've never relied on the built-in download tools of any web browser.

Give Flashget a try. It can download different parts of the same file at the same time (speeding up download times), and can resume lost or broken downloads. Best all, it's free! http://www.flashget.com/index_en.htm

Re: File Downloads

Suggest that you contact Toshiba Tech Support. If you already have, what
suggestions have you tried so far?

Re: File Downloads

Where are you trying to save this file?
You could be saving to a folder without enough space, like the recovery
partition...
or to one of the junction points, like "My Documents", which, under Vista is
not a folder.

Are you able to DL smaller files?
