Windows Activation

I just took a stick of ram out of my pc to work on another. I get this message from Vista stating that Hardware changes have been dected and now I have to reactive Windows. Anyone know why this is happening. I am not paying Microsoft for their tech help when this was thier screw up to begin with. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Re: Windows Activation

Hello Chris,

Reactivation is for free, either if you do it via internet or telephone.

Re: Windows Activation

You will encounter problems trying to activate by the Internet, so simply
make a call which is free of charge and explain the situation and Windows
Vista will be reactivated for you no problems.

Take a look at the following tutorial:

Re: Windows Activation

Reactivating shouldn't cost you anything.

Re: Windows Activation

All you need do is activate by telephone. You don' have to pay Microsoft anything; all that Vista is saying is you've changed hardware now reactivate; I certainly is no major issue.

There are all kinds of problems with cygwin under vista, from the
usual uac crap to problems mapping junction points to /cygdrive to
various core dumps.

And cygwin terminal emulations suck.
