Sharing files and folders

Well, i had some troubles before sharing and letting ppl from my small lan
acces my files and folders, i manage to do it, i did a fresh install again
and now i have the same problem but with an issue i don't know how to solve
it.

First i create a user on my pc with a pass, i right click the folder i want
and add the user, the folder appear on the network, i log from other
computer and enter my machine (doesn't ask for user and pass) then when i
try to open the folder says dont have the admin permission.

The part i dont know how to set it for other folders is control panel,
network and internet, network file and printer sharing, under network acces
"choose who has network acces to the public folder c:\Users\Public..."

How i chage to another folder?, the ones i want to share, last time config
the forlders via this tool and voila ! all good, but now is stuck on public
folder

thx a lot

Re: Sharing files and folders

Easiest solution is to set the machine to ask for a username and pass.

From Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network File and Printer
Sharing, change Network Access to Anyone with a user account and password
for this computer, and set Public Folder to co-owner.

Re: Sharing files and folders

Did you set all the options right?

The public folder is shared automatic if you use the right settings.

See the controls in the netwrok center.
